Day 01 Chennai (Madras)
Arrive Madras and transfer to hotel.
Afternoon city tour of Chennai.
Day 02 Chennai Kanchipuram Mahabalipuram by car/Coach
Morning drive to Mahabalipuram via Kachipuram (64 kms from Madras). On arrival in Mahabalipuram, check in at the hotel.
The city of Mahabalipuram is famous for the seven pagodas. Here on the seashore is an interesting group of ancient rock hewn temples which are the examples of Dravidian style of Architecture.
Day at leisure at the beach.
Day 03 Mahabalipuram-Chidambaram-Darasuram-Tanjore by Car /Coach
Morning drive to Tanjore visiting the famous temples of Chidambaram and Darasuram en route. On arrival in Tanjore, check in at the hotel.
Day 04 Tanjore
Morning city tour of Tanjore. Afternoon excursion to Trichy
Day 05 Tanjore-Madurai by Car /Coach
Morning drive to Madurai and on arrival, check in at the hotel. Afternoon visit the great Meenakshi Temple dedicated to the consort of Lord Shiva with its towering gopurams (rising high above the surrounding country side). Later, visit the Tirumala Nayak Palace - A gracious building in the Indo saracenic style, famous for the Stucco work on its domes & arches. Also visit the Alagar Hills and Tirupara Kundran Rock temple. Afternoon free. Overnight Madurai.
Day 06 Madurai-Periyar By Car /Coach
Morning drive to Periyar National Park. Set up in 1934,it extends to 777 square kms & forms part of the high mountain ranges, the Western Ghats. Wild life can be seen while cruising on Periyar Lake in a motor boat. Amongst the animals which can be seen are elephants, wild boar, sambar, tiger, leopard, wild dog, langur monkeys, etc. Overnight Periyar.
Day 07 Periyar Kumarakom
Afternoon drive to Kumarakom (170 kms). On arrival, check-in at hotel.
Kumarakom-is a beautiful backwater village on the shores of the enchanting Vembanad Lake, criss-crossed with meandering waterways and ancient cottages.

Day 08 Kumarakom Houseboat
Morning at leisure.
Afternoon, board the traditional rice boats - "Ketuvallam" for a fascinating cruise through the backwaters of Kerala (own arrangement).

Day 09 Kumarakom Cochin
Drive to Cochin. Overnight Cochin.
Day 10 Cochin
Morning sightseeing tour of Cochin or "Kochi"- the palm green, commercial capital of Kerala, which has one of the finest natural harbours & is known as the "Queen of the Arabian Sea". From time immemorial, Arabs, Chinese, Dutch, British & Portuguese seafarers followed the sea route to Kochi & left their impression on the town. Visit the Dutch Palace, the Jewish Synagogue, the Church of St. Francis, the Bolghatty Palace & the famousChinese fishing nets.
Day 11 Cochin Bangalore Mysore
Morning transfer to airport for Bangalore flight. Arrive Bangalore and drive directly to Hassan enroute Sravanabelgola (185 kms) - is one of the one of the oldest and most important Jain pilgrimage centres in India and the huge 17m-high naked statue of Bahubali (Gomateshwara) is said to be the world's tallest monolithic statue. It overlooks the sedate country town of Sravanabelagola from the top of the rocky hill known as Indragiri.. The beautifully sculpted face of Bahubali at Sravanabelagola reveals determination and total control. This colossal statue is the main attraction at Sravanabelagola and draws tourists and pilgrims from all over the world.
Continue drive to Hassan (52 kms). On arrival, check-in at hotel.
Day 12 Hassan Belur Halebid Mysore
Morning drive through lush tropical landscapes to Halebid and Belur - Built in the 12th and 13th century in the superb baroque style, these temples are carved of stone and are truly magnificent. As one architect and critic said "These friezes carved with a minute elaboration of detail are one of the most marvelous exhibitions of human labor to be found even in the patient East". The temple at Belur is famed for its profusely ornamented exterior, and the one at Halebid for its sculptured figures and open-air museum. Also visit the colossal monolithic Jain statue, 57-ft high, which stands on top of a steep bare hill.
Overnight in Mysore.
Day 13 Mysore
Morning visit the palace of the Maharaja built in 1911 - 1912. The palace is of harmonious syntheses of the Hindu and saracenic styles of architecture with archways, domes, turrets, colonnades and sculptures which are magnificent. Visit the Art Gallery; drive upto Chamundi hill to see Chamundeshwari Temple and a panoramic view of Mysore. On the way back, see the Nandi Bull. Afternoon free. Overnight Mysore.
Day 14 Mysore Bangalore Chennai (Madras)
Transfer to rail-station for Madras train. Arrive and transfer to Hotel. Overnight Madras.
Day 15 Chennai (Madras)
Morning at leisure. Check-out at 1200 hrs. Transfer to airport for return flight.
